If your blind, and using a crosswalk then hopefully you are using a handicapped crosswalk with the audible walk/dont walk. And if the driver blows through the cross walk, well a noisy car will murder somone in a crosswalk just as surely as a silent car. same thing with the black boxes they are trying to mandate now since the toyota debacle. They serve no purpose until somone tries to sue someone, and some estimates put em at around $5k per vehicle. IMO there are already too many mandatory "safety" devices on cars that serve no purpose but to inflate the MSRP (im not referring to those that actually do improve safety by a reasonable amount)
